Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy –  is a natural and science-backed skin rejuvenation treatment that uses your body’s own healing power to restore and regenerate skin from within. This treatment is ideal for patients looking to improve skin texture, firmness, hydration, and reduce signs of ageing in a safe and effective way.

What Is PRP?

PRP is created from a small sample of your own blood, drawn on the day of treatment. The blood is processed in a centrifuge to separate the plasma, which is rich in platelets, growth factors, and exosomes – all of which stimulate natural collagen production, improve cell turnover, and promote skin healing.

100% Natural and Biocompatible

Because PRP is autologous (from your own body), it is extremely safe and well-tolerated. There are no foreign substances, no synthetic additives, and no risk of allergic reaction. The quality of the blood sample is carefully taken into account, ensuring optimal concentration of regenerative components.

Benefits of PRP for Skin Health

PRP promotes long-term improvement in:

  • Skin texture and tone

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Skin hydration and firmness

  • Dull, tired, or sun-damaged skin

  • Tear trough hollows and dark circles

  • Upper lip lines and smile lines

These improvements occur gradually as your skin’s fibroblasts respond to the infusion of growth factors and begin to produce more collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid naturally.

PRP Application

We apply PRP using a dual-delivery approach for maximum regenerative benefit:

  1. Targeted Injections – PRP is carefully injected into areas of concern, such as:

    • Tear troughs (most commonly treated)

    • Smile lines

    • Upper peri-oral (lip) lines
These areas benefit from direct delivery of growth factors, helping to improve under-eye hollowness, soften wrinkles, and restore volume naturally.

    • Neck and Chest areas

Skin Needling with PRP Infusion – The remainder of the PRP is used topically and needled into the skin using a professional medical microneedling device. This creates microchannels in the skin to allow PRP to penetrate deeply, stimulating collagen production throughout the entire treated area.

At Self Aesthetics, every PRP treatment is paired with medical skin needling to enhance penetration and optimise regenerative outcomes.

Maintenance and Repeat Treatments

While you may see visible improvements within a few weeks of your first session, PRP is a cumulative treatment. A series of 3–4 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart is ideal to stimulate consistent collagen renewal. We recommend maintenance treatments every 4–6 months to maintain results and keep skin looking youthful, hydrated, and resilient.

Both PRP and PRF offer incredible regenerative benefits. PRP is ideal when you want fast-acting results and an immediate boost in skin texture and hydration. PRF, on the other hand, offers a slow release of growth factors due to its fibrin lattice structure, making it more suited to volume restoration and longer-lasting rejuvenation, particularly in delicate areas like the under eyes.

At Self Aesthetics, your treatment plan is customised based on your goals and skin condition – sometimes combining both PRP and PRF for maximum effect.
