IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy is a popular non invasive cosmetic treatment that uses high-intensity pulses of light to improve the appearance of the skin. Unlike lasers, which use a single wavelength of light, IPL uses a broad spectrum of light to target various skin issues. The light penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the pigment cells and blood vessels, leading to their destruction and promoting natural healing and regeneration.

IPL therapy is versatile and can address a wide range of skin concerns, including:

  1. Sun Damage and Age Spots: IPL can effectively reduce the appearance of sunspots, age spots, and other types of hyperpigmentation.
  2. Rosacea and Redness: It helps to minimize redness and visible blood vessels associated with rosacea and other vascular conditions.
  3. Acne and Acne Scars: IPL can reduce active acne and improve the appearance of acne scars by targeting the bacteria and promoting collagen production.
  4. Uneven Skin Tone and Texture: IPL promotes a more even skin tone and smoother texture by stimulating collagen production.

All patients are required to have a skin check with their GP, Dermatologist or NP within 6 months of their treatment for patient safety.  No makeup or fake tan can be worn during a treatment as this puts the skin at risk of a burn.  A consultation is always had prior to any treatment session.
