What Makes a Good Cosmetic Injector?

The cosmetic injectables industry is one that continues to rapidly grow but like all things, you must be discerning when it comes to choosing the right person for you. It’s your face after all!

So, how do you choose? First of all, it should never be about the cheapest or those with the most social media followers. Performing quality cosmetic injectables isn’t a popularity contest nor should it be about getting as much done for the least amount of money. Quite the opposite!

Here’s a few key considerations that I think people need to keep in mind when choosing a cosmetic injector.

Honesty

For me, it’s about building a plan that incorporates doing the right kind of procedures that deliver the best results for a particular face. I won’t be persuaded to perform procedures that I know won’t work for you or don’t fit within my core values. I’m ok with saying no because I know my stuff and I want you to still love your face!

Pricing & Product Quality

Using good quality products is reflected in pricing. Lower grades don’t deliver the same quality which means inferior results. I understand that pricing and working within your budget is of absolute importance which is why I don’t ‘upsell’ – this should also be a major detractor for anyone who is looking for a quality cosmetic injector.

Learning

While upselling is a ‘no-no’, upskilling is a big yes! Cosmetic injectables techniques and products are constantly evolving so it’s absolutely critical your injector is keen to keep learning and growing their knowledge and capability to deliver the best results. I’m forever attending courses and conferences to ensure I’m at the top of my game.

Affiliations

Learning also leads me to the importance of having a network of respected peers as a safety and support measure. Affiliating and aligning yourself with fellow industry professionals is key which is why I will happily refer a client if I think it’s out of my scope.

Artistry

Talent in a particular field is one thing you either have or you don’t. You can’t teach talent and it’s vital that a cosmetic injector has a good eye for artistry to support the technical aspects of the process.

Communication & Trust

You’ve got to be comfortable! Many clients are already nervous at the thought of needles so it’s vital to be able to read those nonverbal cues and help put people’s jitters at rest. I think I’m pretty relatable and genuinely enjoy the interactions I have with my clients. Your cosmetic injector should be open, responsive and a great listener!

So that’s about it…after twenty years I’m still learning and loving this industry and hope that if you can’t visit me in Brisbane, this information helps you navigate finding the right cosmetic injector for you.
